Amazing Race...

it was the habitat for humanity amazing race today... frankly... the experience was totally unexpected... i initially tot it was a round-the-island competition... but in the end... it turned out to be smth else... as usual... will giv a brief summary of the event today...
reached tanjong pagar mrt at 7am... luckily i wasnt late... but den... arrived to c the entire station flooded wif pple participatin in the race... n our team only had erene n wk present... hailing n low low came shortly after... but soon kueh, being the team leader, was late!!!... hahahhaa... ming ming was still sleepin when we called him... so he joined us only ltr... arrived at the bestway building... it was rainin... so every1 huddled arnd at the canteen... n after receiving the programme bklet... we got a complete shock!!! wad the bklet seemed to describe abt was tt the race will NOT be an island-wide thing... tt was the first disappointment... the 2nd thing was tt it was rather disorganized at first... n we spent a lot of time loiterin arnd... sigh... but after the race started... our first clue was to find this place which we pieced tgt 2 pictures to find out... after a lot of walkin... finally found the place at the telok ayer park... hahaha... to tink tt the direction we bluffed the other grps to follow actually turned out to be the correct way... :)... but our first task upon arrivin was to collect newspapers... so we split at the 4 floors... n i went wif erene... out of our entire level... only 1 unit gave us some newspapers... the rest of the team collected slightly more than us... cos they went to other floors as well... haha... den after a short debrief by Ms Wang HM... we received a packet of beads to thread accordin to a certain design... so we went to a place outside a building to do it... alvin low n hailing had nimble hands... n they finished it very quickly... i was very ben shou ben jiao... took quite some time to finish it... after returnin to bestway buildin to deposit our newspapers... went for lunch... erm... we were supposed to be waitin in a long queue... but being very fast pple... we were among the first to reach... n had our lunch quite fast... this is our lunch: 2 loafs of bread, 1 pckt of biscuits, one bunch of bananas for the whole grp, n one delifrance bread... sigh... not a fillin lunch at all... but this being a poverty camp... shldn't expect too much... sat down at the kerb n ate... the camera pple came to shoot us... haha... after lunch... set out to some duxton plain park... where we were supposed to search for 60 beans in a certain area of grass in 10 min... we found only 11... cos it was very very hard... the other grp beside us was crappin abt whether some black beans they found can giv them extra pts... hahaha... :)... den after tt, n collectin some old cardboard... we went to a coffeshop to hav a drink... haha... den headed back to bestway buildin again... stoned there after receivin our 4th clue, tinkin tt its some stonin qns... realised ltr tt its actually a clue tt leads us to MND area... but cldn't find the place... ended up at Maxwell market eatin hum jin peng... 7 pcs for 1 buck... fried ourselves (me, wk n low low)... so in the end dint go for the last station... den on the way back... entered the URA buildin... where this lady security guard suddenly came n scolded us for some unknown reason... sayin tt "the door opens by itself..."... ba... i dun noe wad she was tolkin abt... so we dint really care... upon returnin to bestway buildin (again)... we were supposed to start buildin our slum hse... haha... but we slacked arnd by goin to the toilet, explorin the buildin (even attempted to go to the Suria channel broadcastin area), n finally went to stone n chat at tanjong pagar mrt station under the pretext of searchin for materials to build our slum... returned back at arnd 5 n set up our slum hse in less than 3 mins... haha... our facilitator was shocked, man!!! :)... den we sat in our slum hse watchin n laughin at 2 grps of guys playin "trench warfare" using their slums wif water bottles n newspapers as ammo... hahahhaa... tt was highly funny n entertainin!!!... it was abt 1 hr ltr before they finished announcin the results of the competition, cleaning up n claimin our belongings... den mz, wk, low, soon n i went PS to eat dinner b4 headin home... erene went for class dinner n hailing went home... haha...
hmm... for my feelings abt the race... it was a nice one... tho it wasn't really wad we expected... but the experience we gained was valuable... n i tink overall... i still enjoyed it!!! :)
